Wanted Cheyenne Man Arrested for Violating Probation, Beating Ex
A 20-year-old Cheyenne man is facing up to five years in prison after allegedly violating his probation by beating up on his ex-girlfriend.
On Oct. 20, Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell sentenced Dante Garcia to five years of probation for a Nov. 9, 2016 incident in which he admittedly strangled his then-girlfriend.
The night of his sentencing, however, Garcia reportedly made contact with the woman, beat her and threatened to kill her and her family.
A bench warrant was issued for Garcia's arrest on Oct. 23 and he was arrested at his Cheyenne home on Jan. 19.
Garcia is scheduled for a probation revocation arraignment on Feb. 2 at 9 a.m.
