Picture yourself on a sandy beach, the sun is shining, a gentle breeze is blowing and the waves are crashing in the distance. Now imagine that you're in Wyoming.

Believe it or not, life's a beach here in the Cowboy State. This week, the website Onlyinyourstate.com published a list ranking the best beaches in Wyoming.

Colter Bay, which is located in Grand Teton National Park, was their pick for the best beach in the state. The popular tourist destination offers stunning mountain views, a marina for boats, picturesque sunsets and a long, sandy beach.

Glendo State Park ranks second on their list. Featuring over 2 miles of tree-lined sandy beaches, guests are also allowed to camp right next to the water.

Fremont Lake is located just north of Pinedale in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The second largest lake in the state includes the Sandy Beach Picnic Area on the southeastern shore.

Alcova Reservoir - This popular summer playground features four different beaches, Black Beach, Big Sandy Beach, Okie Beach and the Children's Swim Beach, along with six campgrounds and eight boat docks.

Boysen State Park - Located near the Wind River Reservation, the reservoir features a large beach on the eastern shore. It's also renowned as one of the best lakes in the state for fishing.
