A winning Powerball ticket worth $2 million was sold at the Maverik convenience store in Mills back in May, and has finally been claimed by the winner.

The Wyoming Lottery says the winner opted to remain anonymous.

When asked about the delay, the winner told the Wyoming Lottery, "I only check my tickets every couple of months and could not believe it when I finally checked! The whole thing is very surreal!"

The next Powerball drawing is set for Wednesday night.

The Wyoming Lottery has paid more than $43 million in winnings since its inception in 2014.

In the most recent quarter, the Wyoming Lottery provided nearly $1.5 million in profits for distribution to Wyoming cities, towns and counties.
