WYDOT has a busy summer planned in the Casper area. Here are the current repairs underway, and some that are planned in the coming months...

CY Ave: Wyoming Boulevard to Robertson Road - work is on schedule

o   New asphalt, new left turn lanes, signal upgrades (3)

o   Under way – plan to be completed by end of June, 2017 – all lanes to reopen

o   Will be work after this time but it will be out of the travel lanes.

=======================================================

Following this, Knife River will be resurfacing on Old Yellowstone Highway/Old Glenrock Highway

o   New asphalt – mill and overlay from I-25 bridge/campground area (near Rocky Mountain Power) to Hat Six interchange

o   Traffic to one lane, either direction – speed reduction

o   No business accesses to close – though there may be times where crossovers are closed temporarily

o   Plan to be completed by Aug. 21 eclipse - all traffic lanes to be reopened by then

o   This project is similar to the current CY project and should begin by first week of July.

========================================================

12th Street/Wyoming Boulevard intersection

o   Intersection reconstruction – concrete. The area of the intersection currently paved in concrete will be reconstructed.

o   Work to begin June 5 – with water line work beginning on west side of 12th and Wyo. Blvd.

o   New water lines through intersection – starting from west side of intersection working eastward (water line is under 12th Street)

o   Traffic will be reduced to one lane, either direction.

o   During course of construction there will be times of no access to 12th Street from Wyoming Boulevard.  Also times of no left turns at intersection.

o   Plan to use alternate route.

Pedestrians, use north side sidewalk along 12th Street. This will be marked

o   The plan is to also have this project substantially completed by the Aug. 21 eclipse - lanes open to traffic

=======================================================

None of these projects should interfere with the school schedule this fall.

The 12th Street/Wyoming Boulevard project will begin June 5 - with water line work - so there may be some traffic disruption at the intersection on the last two days of school. The school district has been notified.

At this point, WYDOT is planning to stop working (where traffic is directly impacted) around the eclipse (Aug 17 - 23) to help minimize traffic issues. This would include contractor work that might still be under way at this time.

As always, please remind people to pay attention in all work zones, obey the posted speed limit and, if there are flaggers, follow their directions.
