Even with their leading scorer back the University of Nevada Las Vegas runnin' rebels were to much for the Wyoming Cowboys. Junior guard Josh Adams scored 24 points, but the University of Wyoming men's basketball team dropped a 69-57 game at UNLV on Saturday night. The Pokes (21-8, 10-6 MW) were within three with eight minutes left, but the Rebels (16-13, 7-9 MW) responded with a 10-0 run to beat the Cowboys for the 14th-straight time in the Thomas & Mack Center. Wyoming trailed by 10 points midway through the second half, but cut it to three at 52-49 with 7:47 left. That would be as close as the Cowboys could get, though, as the Rebels responded with a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to put the lead to 13 with four minutes remaining. The Pokes would dip the lead into single digits at several points down the stretch, but UNLV always had an answer. Adams' third 20-point effort in the last four games came on eight field goals, as he tied a career high with four triples. He has scored in double figures in six-straight games. Senior forward Derek Cooke Jr. added 10 points and seven rebounds, while senior forward Larry Nance Jr. and senior guard Riley Grabau had nine points apiece. Grabau hit three triples for a second-straight game and Nance added nine rebounds against the Rebels. The Cowboys return to Laramie for Senior Night against Utah State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. MT.
