
Wyoming Filmmaker and Air Force Officer Tackles Police Violence in Upcoming Movie
Cole Smith is a filmmaker and active duty Air Force officer stationed in Cheyenne.
Earlier this year, he released "Memorial Day", a short film, produced in cooperation the Wyoming Arts Council, that depicts two friends commemorating a fallen comrade.
Smith's next project will tackle the controversial topic of police shootings.
Alongside fellow filmmaker and Air Force Airman Devin O'Rourke, he is co-producing a short film titled "10-78", which centers around the events leading up to, and during, an officer-involved shooting.
Production of the film, which was shot on location in Cheyenne, wrapped this week. Smith hopes to release the film next year at movie festivals througought the region.
