A Wyoming motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a Subaru near Dubois earlier this week.

Reynaldo Ramos, 64, died despite wearing a helmet. The driver of the Subaru was not injured, according to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday on US 26/287, near milepost 68 in Fremont County.

Ramos was eastbound and crossed the center line while negotiating a right-hand curve. His motorcycle traveled onto the shoulder of the opposite lane.

The driver of the Subaru, seeing Ramos on the wrong shoulder, tried to avoid hitting him by moving toward the center of the highway, away from the motorcycle. However, Ramos turned back onto the highway and the two vehicles collided.

Weather was clear and the road surface was dry at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
