While some in the federal government hit the Wyoming coal industry for it’s environmental impact, our surplus of wind is blowing in money and jobs. The U.S. Energy Department is granting The University Of Wyoming $4.25 Million for wind energy research. UW matched with $1 Million to cover wind farm modeling, transmission grid research and study of the economic models.
