As Wyoming says goodbye to Liz Cheney social media fills with some of the funniest memes I have seen in a long time.

Meanwhile, on the Wake Up Wyoming radio show I planned a song that I thought expressed what Wyomingites were thinking.

Since so many wanted her to "go back to Virginia" I thought I'd look up a song that said just that.

So let's start with a very old tune by The Carter Family - My Old Virginia Home.

From there I pictured a bunch of people waving as she drove away singing; Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-ey Goodbye.

Remember that song? If you don't you're not old enough to listen to my radio show.

Do you remember the name of the band? Most people don't They were called Alvedazen.

They had a couple of hits because they wrote catchy tunes. But honestly they never really wrote a song about anything. Just catchy words.

Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-ey Goodbye, The Alvedazen:

I bet no one reading this ever thought of this song.

Roy Clark - Thank God And Greyhound You're Gone.

The story in the song is of an abusive woman who finally is leaving and she takes a Greyhound bus out of town.

Her boyfriend is SO GLAD she is leaving the song suddenly goes from a sad song to a happy one.

One of my favorite country music singers of all time Joe Dee Messina with her hit song Bye Bye!

We might have to flip the point of view here. In this song, she sings about how she is hopping in her car and driving away.

BYE BYE!

Still, it is the kind of song that will get stuck in your head when you think about Liz Cheney leaving the state, so I thought it should be included.

Several listeners called the radio show suggesting HIT THE ROAD JACK by Ray Charles.

This is perfect, but it's not.

Many of these songs have a line or two in them that fit the spirit of saying goodbye to Liz Cheney and sending her on her way. Most of the words of these songs don't fit in any other way.

That's okay. You just need one or two good lines stuck in your head for this to work.

Don't Come Around Here No More - Tom Petty.

This feeds into that mood that many people feel of wanting Liz to leave and frankly not wanting her to ever come back to out state again.

That sounds cruel I know. But that's how many in this state are feeling right now.

Actually, a lot of the words for this song make sense to the situation.

Motley Crue -  Don't Go Away Mad, Just Go Away.

With this song you have to wait, or scroll to, the very end to get to the words that actually fit the situation.

This was suggested by a listener who just wants Liz to go away.

That's all. Don't be mad or anything. Whatever. Just leave.

OKAY, I'll have to say that I think this is actually a little cruel.

But several people suggested it, so I'm including this because I think it really does fit the mood of Wyoming voters as Liz Cheney exits the state.

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead.

A bit over the top, but okay you asked for it some I'm adding it.
