Texas-based blues rockers ZZ Top and the progressive metal group Queensryche are among the acts confirmed to appear at this year's Sturgis Rally concert at the Buffalo Chip Music Festival. Billed as the "largest music festival in motorcycling," the annual event features a mix of classic rock and country acts. This year's rally takes place Aug. 2-11 in South Dakota.

Queensryche have been touring and breaking in their new lead singer, former Crimson Glory front man Todd LaTorre, after firing founding member and longtime front man Geoff Tate last year (Tate will launch a tour with his own newly-announced lineup of Queensryche this fall). ZZ Top are a perennial live favorite, and they are touring to promote their most recent album 'La Futura.'

Fans can expect a rockin' and diverse lineup this year, as other acts to appear in 2013 include country artists Toby Keith and Brantley Gilbert -- both of whom tend to put on shows that have as much in common with classic rock as Hank Williams.

Classic rockers are always welcome in Sturgis -- past performers at the enormously popular festival include Journey, Loverboy, Boston, Slash and (of course) Lynyrd Skynyrd.
