1939 Video About Wyoming Elk is as Retro as You Can Get
It's amazing how little elk have changed since 1939. That's one of the things I learned after watching this retro Wyoming film that's just been shared on YouTube.
Jeff Quitney shared this USDA video on YouTube with the following description:
From vintage footage of the National Archives, this Department of Interior film looks at the elk, grouse and moose of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. This 1939 documentary is so in-depth they even talk about elk infections. Ahem.
I also learned that elk are also called wapiti. As it turns out, come people get kinda mad if you call them elk and not wapiti. This is especially true about Canadians according to the Canadian Rangeland website. Good day, eh?
This vintage video is worth watching for the old-timer announcer and music alone.
