The Casper Coyotes made their Oil City debut to an exuberant crowd of hockey fans eager to welcome our newest sports franchise.

The team is made up of young men ages ranging from 16-20, from all over the globe.  The state of Wyoming is represented too. Brady Griffin and Dave Watson are Casper natives, while Chris Lugg is from the Capital City, Cheyenne.

Players from five foreign countries will hone the skills while members of the Western States Hockey League affiliate.Sweden, Finland, Canada (the birthplace of hockey), Latvia and the Ukraine have players calling Casper home now.

Head Coach John Ambrefe, brings outstanding credentials and knowledge to a talented group of young men. I' m sure he'll get his message across and this team will be competitive. Mike Bowman and Jay Ambrefe are the assistant coaches, and overseeing skating is Dave Watson and BLu McGrath.

The Coyotes will play 22 home games this season. Tickets can be ordered now at CasperCoyotes.com. The team split up into red/white squads to scrimmage for the fans who came out for inaugural home event.

The Coyotes will drop the puck on a three game home stand against the Colorado Roughriders on September 19- the 21st. Let's get out and support our local sports teams. Good luck.
