Casper police officers arrested a woman early Thursday morning after she allegedly fled from officers and fought when they attempted to arrest her.

Rachael Stack, who was born in 1992, was booked into jail on recommended misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, eluding a police officer and interference.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a police sergeant was in her patrol car completing paperwork in the vacant parking lot at 222 E. Collins Dr. when she heard and then saw a truck driving an estimated 60-70 mph north on Wolcott.

The sergeant pursued the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the truck did not stop for her. The sergeant called off the pursuit after seeing the truck turning east off of Center Street at the I-25 overpass.

Another police officer had reported being eluded by a similar-looking vehicle sometime earlier. It was determined that the two officers had been chasing the same maroon 2001 Dodge pickup truck.

Officers found the truck in north Casper, parked in the alleyway behind The Seton House. The only person in the truck -- later identified as Stack -- was "tucked down" in the driver's seat and was using her phone.

Stack locked the truck's doors and refused to cooperate, according to the affidavit. Officers could not see her hands and had to break the driver's side window to unlock the door before pulling Stack from the truck.

Stack allegedly continued her physical resistance and made suicidal statements before officers were able to take her to the ground and place her into handcuffs. Even then, Stack passively resisted, making it difficult for officers to get her into the rear of a patrol car.

Once seated in the patrol car, Stack reportedly stuck her legs out and prevented the officers from closing the car door. An officer used a stun gun twice in order to stop her resisting and get the door closed.
