Casper Woman Arrested for Child Endangerment With Meth

Casper police officers arrested a woman Sunday after allegedly discovering methamphetamine paraphernalia in a home where two young children live.

Kaylene Frances Whitney, 31, was booked into jail on a recommended charges of methamphetamine possession and two counts of child endangerment with methamphetamine.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, two police officers went to an apartment in the 2400 Block of Grandview Place shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday to conduct a follow-up interview with Whitney regarding the arrest of Bobby Jackson, which had taken place earlier that day.

Two children were present in the apartment when officers arrived, as was Whitney.

Whitney reportedly allowed the officers to search the entire apartment for a weapon which Jackson had reportedly possessed. Whitney also completed a 'consent to search' form.

In the bedroom which Whitney shared with Jackson, police found a large glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue as well as a straw apparently used to snort methamphetamine.

Whitney denied any knowledge of drug use inside the home. She was arrested and the two children were taken into protective custody before being released to a family member.

A review of Whitney's criminal history reportedly revealed two previous convictions for child endangerment with methamphetamine as well as a previous conviction for methamphetamine possession, according to the affidavit.
