Chris Rock Will Host SNL- Prince To Perform

I saw a post from one of my Facebook friends yesterday saying that, "SNL should just pull the plug," on a sad dying show!.

Well, they're not going down without a fight. Chris Rock will be hosting on November 1st, and Prince will serve as musical guest. Ratings might be slightly higher for this show although, what the future brings is in question.

This will mark the third time that Prince has performed on Saturday Night Live: His previous appearances took place in 1981 and 2006.  The 56-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be accompanied by his all-female backing group 3RDEYEGIRL, with whom he recorded PlectrumElectrum.  Saturday Night Live airs at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT and at 10:30 p.m. CT.

Art Official Age, which Prince recorded solo, landed at #5 on the Billboard 200 tally, while PlectrumElectrum bowed at #8.  The singer became the first artist to have two new albums debut in the top 10 of the chart since 2004, when rapper Nelly's Suit and Sweat premiered at #1 and #2, respectively.
