Hero Yellowstone Tourist Reports Idiot Walking on Grand Prismatic

Maybe you heard that an idiot walked on the Grand Prismatic Spring area of Yellowstone. Fortunately, he didn't get away with it as a hero tourist captured the stupid act on video.

The Billings Gazette was among the many media outlets that reported the story of what this guy did. The man left the boardwalk and walked on the natural spring area which is a big no-no.

I don't want to focus on this jerk. Instead, I'd like to provide a shout out to the tourist that captured this video. They did two things right. First, they video'd proof of what happened, then they went and found a park ranger to report it.

There's no word on how much this guy got fined, but let's hope it was more than a light slap on the wrist.

There's an interesting read by Johnson and Wales University on the negative effects of tourism on our national parks. The guy who walked on the Grand Prismatic Spring should have his face smacked on the cover of that in my opinion.
