Restaurants seem to come and go in Cheyenne and the latest change is at 112 West 17^th St. What used to be Re-O-Na Thai restaurant is now Beju Sushi Bar & Asian Cuisine, under new ownership and offering Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Indonesian cuisine that is more traditional than the Americanized version you might expect. They opened on Dec. 5 and with a month to get things together, I thought we should try it.

The new owners bring culturally true fare that appeal to the eyes and the palate. Do they meet that goal? Are they worth spending your hard earned money? In a noble and magnanimous gesture, I volunteered the taste buds of my wife and I, to bring you a taste of the new Beju restaurant.

Sushi seemed like a good place to start.

The Sushi Deluxe ($19.99 with 6 pieces of sushi with California Roll & Tuna Roll) was fine, especially with a very tasty eel sauce, zesty wasabi and fresh ginger. Then we tried the Turmeric Fried Chicken ($10.95)

We were both very happy with Beju and look forward to sampling more of their wide range of entrees. The prices are reasonable, portions are good, the wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

So, is the new Beju worth trying? Absolutely. I will be going back and I hope that they will thrive. Cheyenne has been tough for businesses over the past year, I hope these folks thrive, so I will support.
