The Natrona County School District is asking for help gathering school supplies for families in need for the upcoming school year.

District officials are holding their annual “Stuff the Bus” school supplies drive through Aug. 10. Several drop-off locations have been set up throughout Casper.

Lori Burns, a program facilitator with the school district, says a wide range of supplies are needed.

“Typically, most schools want the No. 2 pencils, blue, black and red pens, notebook paper, both white and college-ruled, pink block erasers, backpacks, and we’re really in need of highlighters and dry-erase markers,” Burns said.

Burns says, each year, the average family spends between $60 and $100 per child for school supplies.

The school district is also accepting cash donations online. Those interested in making a cash donation can visit this link for more information.
