Ridley's Family Markets announced Thursday that it will be closing its west Casper store, located on CY Avenue, by mid-April.

A progressive inventory liquidation will begin immediately, the company said in a statement. The pharmacy has been sold to Walgreens, and all current Ridley's pharmacy patients will be able to fill their prescriptions at Walgreens pharmacies beginning March 21.

The store will wind down operations by April 11.

"As a family owned and operated company it is never easy to make decisions like this that impact members of our Ridley's team," said Mark Ridley, the company's president.

He said the company will make an effort to find work for as many store employees as possible at the location on Wyoming Boulevard, which will remain open.

"It is very personal for us when we have to make decisions like this because of the impact we know it has on the people's lives that work in these stores," Ridley said. "Because of this we try everything to make every store successful and have to close underperforming stores for the overall health and success of the rest of our company."

"We believe that the core of our business is the people who work with us," Ridley added.
