A North Dakota woman who was arrested last year for operating a mobile methamphetamine lab received a prison sentence Tuesday.

Megan Marie Schwabel pleaded guilty to unlawful clandestine laboratory operations in August. As a part of that deal, she would have received a supervised probation term.

But she never showed up to her sentencing hearing on Dec. 18.

Instead, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. Prosecutors invoked a "cold plea provision," meaning terms of the deal could go away should Schwambel violate those terms.

Instead, Schwabel was sentenced to 18 to 42 months in the Wyoming Women's Center during a hearing in Natrona County District Court Tuesday, according to District Attorney Dan Itzen.

Schwabel and Jason Hays, 37, also of North Dakota, were arrested following a traffic stop that caused the shutdown of CY Avenue in April 2017.

Schwabel and Hays were stopped in the 2800 block of CY for speeding. Police found methamphetamine and equipment to produce the drug in their Dodge Intrepid. That led to authorities shutting down the westbound lane of CY Avenue between Fairgrounds Road and Kit Carson Avenue.
