Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced four defendants for firearms, drugs and illegal alien crimes, according to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced William Tyler Midgett, 32, of Evansville for being a felon and unlawful user of controlled substance in possession of a firearm and possession of firearm not registered in the national firearms registration and transfer record.

He received three years one month of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release.

The Casper Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated this case.

Skavdahl sentenced Jerry Joseph Romero, 42, of Salt Lake City for being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. He received a total of seven years nine months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment. Romero was arrested in Sweetwater County.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated this case.

Skavdahl also sentenced Loveless Daniel Naylor, 40, of South Bend, Ind., for possession with intent to distribute heroin. He received four years nine months of imprisonment, to be followed by four years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay $500 in restitution and a $100 special assessment. Naylor was arrested in Cheyenne.

The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation investigated this case.

Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Guillermo Maldonado-Abarca, 34, Denver for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. He received time served plus 10 days to allow for deportation proceedings, one year of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment. Maldonado-Abarca was arrested in Casper.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations investigated this case.
