Each year the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood holds a contest to determine the Worst Toy of the Year. This year’s winner by a landslide is Mattel’s Hello Barbie. Some think its creepy and unsettling because it records your child’s private conversations.

Talking Hello Barbie doll was just named the worst toy of the year, by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood.  It's because the doll connects to the Internet so that it can respond when a child talks, just like Siri.  But the conversations get recorded and analyzed by researchers developing voice recognition software, so the doll allows strangers to eavesdrop on kids' private conversations and retain the data.  Hello Barbie" costs $75.

When it loses the Internet connection, the doll says "Uh-oh, I can't find a Wi-Fi network."
