There is an ever-present danger in our oilfields, as witnessed by Lovell Chronicle Publisher and Editor David Peck on September 25 south of Lovell, Wyoming. He said on their Facebook page;

“The spectacular oilfield fire shot flames and black smoke into the sky that could be seen for miles around.”

- David Peck

The Chronicle reported that a bit of smoke turned major so fast that a workman couldn’t put it out and volunteer firemen had to wait until oil from five different tanks could shut down the flow of oil. The facility affected separates water from oil.

Luckily, no one was hurt.
