Crossroads Park will host the 1st annual Heroin Awareness 5K walk/run, on Saturday, October 18th.

Families in the community who've dealt with friends or loved ones battling this devastating addiction are coming together to spread the horrors of heroin.

Here are the details on the Heroin 5K walk/run.

This event is being held in memory of Dylan Yates, son of Casper resident Jennifer Yates, who died from a heroin overdose in May 2014 at the age of 23. Casper’s 5K will coincide with similar Raising Heroin Awareness campaigns throughout the country.

Again, this is a free event, but cash donations will be accepted at the registration table to help cover costs. Registration begins at 8:00 am at Casper’s Crossroads Park, and we will begin our walk at 9:00 am along the river trail. Light refreshments will be served after the walk/run.
