I can brag to my friends that Wyoming is great at just about everything. Cell phone usage and laws is not one of them.

In case you haven't heard, April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Wyoming should be featured on the poster for that because we are way far behind the rest of America when it comes to cell phone legislation.

According to Hands Free Info, texting is about the only thing prohibited in Wyoming. That's why it's not unusual to see many around Casper with a phone up against their ear while they're cruising down 2nd Street or wherever. They said that there was a law proposed that would have imprisoned any driver that killed due to texting, but that was voted down because we're Wyoming.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation frequently shares the numbers about how distracted driving causes potentially fatal vehicle crashes. They even created an emoji-filled graphic about it.
