The Wyoming Department of Transportation will begin erosion control on Casper Mountain Road beginning Monday, according to a news release.

Contractor Knife River will install erosion control measures at several locations along the road, also known as Wyoming Highway 251, at its junction with Garden Creek Road.

After that is done, Knife River will install erosion control measures south on Casper Mountain to the end of the state highway.

During this time there will be intermittent lane closures, even though the work will take place mostly off the highway.

Flaggers will direct traffic when lanes are closed.

Work will be performed during normal working hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Construction crews will remove all traffic control from the work area after 5 p.m. so traffic can return to normal.
The contractor plans to begin Monday and perform as much work as possible before winter conditions make it difficult. Any remaining work will be done next spring as weather permits.
