The Fort Caspar Museum Association has advised that the museum cannot be contacted except through a personal visit, for the time being.

The association reports that a fiber optic cable was severed sometime between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

That means the museum has no internet, computer network or telephone service.

City crews are working on repairs, but a personal visit is the only way to contact the museum for the immediate future.

Telephone calls do ring into an answering machine at the museum, and staff intend to return all calls once communications are restored.
